Travelling north from Brisbane Great Eastern Motor Inn is on the southern outskirts of Gympie, on the left hand side directly across from the Cooloola District Information Centre and Lake Alford Park.
Access to Geordie Road is left off the Bruce Highway.
Gympie is centrally located with easy access to the beautiful Cooloola National Park , the coastlines of Rainbow Beach & Cooloola Beach, the dolphins of Tin Can Bay, and the hinterland of the Mary Valley.

Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum—A tribute to the Area's Gold Mining past.

l Deep Creek Gold Fossicking Area—Visitors can fossick for gold using the basic  implements of pan, pick and shovel.  Fossicking permits are required and are available from the Cooloola Region Information Centres.
l Woodworks Forestry and Timber Museum—Demonstrations of early timber cutting techniques and a working replica of a steam driven sawmill. Check with the Museum for demonstration times.
l Mary Valley Heritage Railway—Ride the restored 1923 “Valley Rattler” steam train which travels the 40km journey from Gympie to Imbil.
l Mothar Mountain—A 20 minute drive south east of Gympie, the forest provides a  pleasant location for activities such as picnicking, swimming and bush walking.
l Lake Alford—Feed the ducks in the lake or have a BBQ while the children play in the playground in this beautiful parkland.
l Country Music Muster—Enjoy the sounds and atmosphere of country music every August.
